My name is Waldo and I am the Love Sponge.  I, too, came into Momma and Daddy’s lives by accident.  When Momma and Daddy adopted my brother, Curly, I was a little disappointed, but I knew they would be back.  I was diagnosed with hypothyroid (thyroid does not produce enough hormones) as a kitten.  I took medication twice a day.  My Momma Tani wanted to go on vacation and could not find someone to take me and give me my pills.  Momma, who has yet to meet a cat she can not pill, said she would take me at least for Tani’s vacation.

Well, I became part of the family.  I found out my meds were wrong and I started having problems with mega colon and chronic urinary tract infections (UTI).  I had an operation to remove my colon in August, 2006.  I had had many trips to the vet for enemas and Momma and Daddy were going to put me down but wanted to give the surgery a chance.  They did not want to wonder in five years if they had done the right thing.  I came through the surgery very well.  I am now taking Uroeze and Salix to control my UTI and I am pretty good health.

I can never get enough love and I am everybody’s favorite big brother.
